Welcome to the St Carthage’s Cathedral Parish, Lismore!
We are a vibrant and diverse Catholic parish on the spectacular Far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and worship are the Widjabal-Wiabal people of the Bundjalung Nation. St Carthage’s is the official seat of the Bishop of Lismore.
Whether you’re a life-long Catholic, new to the area or just curious, we invite you to find out more about Jesus Christ through our faith and parish life of St Carthage’s. Everyone is invited to our parish morning teas held after the 9am mass on the first Sunday of the month.
If you need a priest urgently for last rites or other emergencies, please call 6626 0200 at any time.
Welcome from the Parish Administrator
Welcome to St Carthage’s & Our Lady Help of Christians.
Whether you’re visiting us for a wedding, funeral, the Holy Mass or a special celebration, I offer God’s gracious blessing to you.
Our glorious Cathedral was consecrated in 1907 and is the seat of the Bishop of Lismore.
If you’re joining our community as a new parishioner, we at St Carthage’s are committed to inviting and supporting everyone to become a disciple of Christ, building God’s Kingdom through our prayer, service and outreach to others in faith. Working together, we seek to build a strong parish community where all feel welcome and inspired by the Gospel to live God’s mission with faith, hope and love. I invite and encourage you to connect with the members and ministries of our parish community and look forward to meeting you personally.
If there is anything we can do to help you in your journey with God, please do not hesitate to contact me, our parish team or ministry leaders. You can find our contact details on this website or ask our parish office for assistance.
The Cathedral Parish seeks to offer as many opportunities for parishioners to come together in faith as possible. If there is a personal or family need that arises, please know that our parish staff are always available to assist you in any way we can.
I pray that you may find warmth, encouragement and spiritual growth at St Carthage’s.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr Bing Monteagudo,
Parish Administrator
