The Cathedral, is the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Lismore. Consecrated in 1907, this impressive Gothic Revival landmark was designed by architect Herbert Wardell—son of William Wardell, who designed Sydney’s St Mary’s Cathedral. Built from local brick and stone, the cathedral features striking stained-glass windows, a towering bell tower, and a set of 12 chime bells cast in Dublin. Having survived major fires and floods throughout its history, the Cathedral remains a profound spiritual center, architectural jewel, and enduring symbol of resilience.

St Mary’s Chapel is a historic sanctuary steeped in the region's Catholic heritage. Originally built in 1877 as part of the original St Mary’s Convent established by the Presentation Sisters, the site has served as a center of spiritual life and Catholic education for well over a century. The chapel sits alongside Presentation House—a heritage landmark—and today hosts special liturgies, diocesan events, and weekly broadcast Masses. Fully restored after suffering major flood damage in 2022, St Mary's Chapel remains a cherished testament to enduring faith and community resilience.

Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church has been a vital spiritual anchor for the local community since the early 20th century. Established alongside an adjacent parish primary school to prevent local children from making the hazardous trek across the river to central Lismore, it was formally dedicated under the patronage of Australia’s national patron saint. Serving as the heart of the South Lismore Parish, the church provides regular Mass, pastoral care, and community outreach. Having weathered severe regional flooding over decades, it stands as an enduring symbol of faith, connection, and neighborhood resilience.
